He has been a career backup and a journeyman, playing for five teams in the last four seasons, moving around from town to town.

Now it appears Ty Conklin has found a home in Detroit. At least he has felt right at home at Joe Louis Arena.

Conklin registered his fourth shutout in nine games at home Tuesday, leading the Red Wings past Columbus 3-0. He raised his record at Joe Louis Arena to 8-1 and extended his home shutout streak to 138 minutes and 46 seconds.

"I certainly feel a little more comfortable now," Conklin said. "First couple of games here I was feeling butterflies. I'm starting to feel comfortable behind this team, too. Hopefully it works both ways."

Conklin also has been good on the road, as his 14-5-1 season record shows.

Ty Conklin didn't make the most saves, just the biggest ones. Conklin stopped 23 shots for his eighth career shutout and Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and two assists, sending the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night. Marian Hossa and Henrik Zetterberg each added a goal for Detroit, which won its fourth straight.
