Ales Hemsky remains sidelined with a concussion. It was originally believed that Hemsky would only miss a couple of games, but now it's more likely that he'll be out a couple of weeks.

He was injured Dec. 28 and hasn't even been on an exercise bike since.

"I don't really want to go down the path of what his progress is, but he's still unlikely for a while," coach Craig MacTavish said. "All cases are different. He'll have to listen to his body. We're going to be very patient to ensure that when he gets back he's completely ready."

Hemsky suffered the injury after a big hit from Nashville's Jordin Tootoo.

"He took a beating that game. It was one thing after another," said MacTavish.

There seems to be no such thing as an easy two points for the Edmonton Oilers, even when they're at home against a struggling team. Andrew Cogliano's goal midway through the third period gave Edmonton a 3-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Monday night. "We just couldn't lose this game," Cogliano said.
