Sundin set to make Canucks debut against Edmonton (AP)

After nine months on the sidelines, Mats Sundin was set to make his Vancouver Canucks debut Wednesday night against the Edmonton Oilers. The 37-year-old former captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs skated with the Canucks in the morning, then said he was ready for his NHL return. "I feel good, the body feels good, so I'm ready to go," Sundin said in the visitors' dressing room at Rexall Place.

Lidstrom an All-Star for 10th straight time (AP)
Nicklas Lidstrom is headed to the NHL All-Star game for the 10th straight season, but for the first time as captain of the Stanley Cup champion. The six-time Norris Trophy winner, as the league's best defenseman, and Detroit Red Wings teammate Pavel Datsyuk were among 15 players chosen Wednesday to fill out the Western Conference roster for the midseason classic to be played Jan.

New Canucks center Mats Sundin was on the ice wearing his familiar No. 13 Sunday night.
Unfortunately for all but one fan at the 3-2 shootout loss to the Dallas Stars, it was only to give that new jersey away as part of a post-game Fan Appreciation Night. As for when he might finally wear a Canucks sweater in game action, the big Swedish center still wasn't sure.
"It's feeling better and better," Sundin said after a 75-minute skate Sunday morning, including some power play drills with his new teammates. "It was nice to skate with the guys out there." Sergei Samsonov scored his 200th career goal and the Carolina Hurricanes withstood a late rally to beat the New Jersey Devils 3-2 Tuesday night. Ray Whitney and Tuomo Ruutu also scored for the Hurricanes, who extended their winning streak to a season-high four games. Cam Ward continued his recent surge for the Hurricanes, making 26 saves.
